Have you ever observed a home in your neighborhood that's deteriorating and just won't sell? To ensure the West Reading community continues to improve and diversify, the Property Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resale (PARR) program works to beautify and modernize existing vacant properties.
Operating under the supervision of the West Reading Elm Street program, PARR uses private dollars to acquire and rehabilitate West Reading properties. Obvious cosmetic improvements, such as new paint and carpeting, tasteful landscaping, and sidewalk enhancements are made to attract a diverse range of home buyers, while core systems, including plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical, are often given complete overhauls to achieve maximum safety, efficiency, and convenience. After the final touches have been completed on a PARR property, it is resold at fair market value to fund the next project.
