The Knowledge of Athena

By Mike Miller, Allison Shannon & Students from Wyomissing High School's Public Art Workshop
A mural depicting the Goddess of Knowledge and historical alphabet styles.
Behind 524 Penn on Cherry on side of Edwards Business Systems

This mural was created and installed by students from Wyomissing Junior/Senior High School’s Public Art Workshop and local artist Allison Shannon. It’s appropriate that this towering figure of Athena dominates this mural since she was the Greek goddess of wisdom and sponsor of the arts. The background to the mural is also interesting in that it displays several different historical alphabet styles beginning with cuneiform at the bottom and progressing up to digital at the top with many other styles represented in between.
